Job description
We’re looking for a skilled Distribution Line Engineer to support overhead line design and project execution across multiple states. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects independently, mentor others, and contribute to impactful energy infrastructure work.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
- Design overhead distribution lines and prepare complete construction packages.
- Conduct field surveys (in and out of state), assess structure strength, and ensure compliance with NESC and client-specific electrical clearances.
- Respond to construction inquiries and prepare record documentation.
- Apply a strong knowledge base in distribution design to lead and support projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and delegate tasks effectively.
- Independently manage distribution line projects from start to finish.
- Demonstrate full understanding of the project life cycle.
- Operate self-sufficiently with minimal oversight.
- Travel up to 25% may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including temporary coverage of other roles as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, electrical, or mechanical).
- 3-5 years of experience designing overhead transmission power lines using PLS-CADD.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license for multi-state travel.
- Working knowledge of Excel and AutoCAD is a plus.
- Ability to lead internal and external engineering meetings and maintain regular client communication.
