Job description

As an Azure Software Engineer (AI), you will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying intelligent applications and AI-driven solutions using Microsoft’s Azure ecosystem.

Working within a multidisciplinary Agile team, you’ll contribute across the full AI lifecycle, from experimentation and proof of concept through to deployment, optimisation and ongoing support., * Designing and developing AI-enabled applications using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services and Azure Machine Learning

  • Building Generative AI solutions leveraging LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Integrating Machine Learning models into enterprise applications using Azure ML endpoints and APIs
  • Developing scalable APIs and cloud-native services
  • Creating robust data ingestion, transformation and processing pipelines
  • Implementing MLOps practices including model deployment, monitoring, retraining and lifecycle management
  • Applying Responsible AI principles and governance standards
  • Working closely with architects, data engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions

Essential Skills & Experience

Azure & AI

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Azure OpenAI
  • Azure AI Services
  • Azure Machine Learning
  • Azure AI Search
  • Experience designing and delivering AI-enabled cloud-native applications
  • Practical experience with Generative AI technologies
  • Knowledge of RAG architectures, embeddings and prompt engineering
  • Experience integrating AI models into production environments

Software Engineering

  • Strong development experience with:
  • Python
  • C#
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • API design and development
  • Microservices and distributed systems
  • Modern software engineering best practices

Cloud & DevOps

  • Strong Azure platform expertise
  • Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
  • CI/CD pipeline implementation
  • Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
  • Azure Monitor and Application Insights
  • Infrastructure and application observability

Data & MLOps

  • Data pipeline development (ETL/ELT)
  • Azure Data Lake, Synapse and Cosmos DB
  • MLOps and model lifecycle management
  • Model monitoring, performance optimisation and drift detection

  • Hold active SC Security Clearance
