Job description

As an AI Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions that solve real business challenges. Working closely with clients and technical teams, you will build intelligent applications using Generative AI, machine learning, automation, and cloud technologies.

You will contribute to projects that improve customer services, streamline internal operations, enhance decision-making, and support digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AI-powered business applications.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing AI solutions proactively to AI enable organizations.
  • Build Generative AI solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using organisational knowledge and documents.
  • Create AI assistants, chatbots, and intelligent workflow automation.
  • Integrate AI solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, CRM systems, databases, and business applications.
  • Develop secure APIs and backend services for AI applications.
  • Deploy AI solutions on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to deploy scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand business processes and identify AI opportunities.
  • Produce technical documentation, solution designs, and implementation guides.
  • Ensure AI solutions follow security, governance, and data protection best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong Python development experience.
  • Experience in bid writing and winning projects with proven track records.
  • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or similar AI platforms.
  • Knowledge of AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar.
  • Experience with vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Experience developing REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience delivering AI or digital transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Power Platform, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps and secure software development.
  • Knowledge of UK public sector digital services or local government environments.
