Embedded Software Engineer

Play a key role in supporting the development of payload software, external interfaces, and operating system deployments. Focus on deploying novel systems on Size/Weight/Power constrained computing hardware for space sensor payloads. Participate in all aspects of software design and development, starting with requirements generation and following through implementation, testing, deployment, and support. Leverage a core understanding of Linux fundamentals, fault-tolerant design, device interface implementation, and real-time operating systems. Responsibilities

• Support the development of payload software and external interfaces.

• Focus on operating system deployments for space sensor payloads.

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements to support.

• Utilize knowledge of Linux fundamentals, fault-tolerant design, and real-time operating systems.

• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.

• Experience with RTOS, system deployment, testing, and interfaces.

• At least 5 years of professional full-time software engineering experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of professional experience using C/C++ in production-level coding.

• Strong Python scripting skills, with a proficiency level of at least 8 out of 10.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position. The role requires regular use of computer keyboards and controls, and effective verbal and written communication. This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $85.00/hr.
