Job description
Play a key role in supporting the development of payload software, external interfaces, and operating system deployments. Focus on deploying novel systems on Size/Weight/Power constrained computing hardware for space sensor payloads. Participate in all aspects of software design and development, starting with requirements generation and following through implementation, testing, deployment, and support. Leverage a core understanding of Linux fundamentals, fault-tolerant design, device interface implementation, and real-time operating systems. Be part of a team of driven pioneers relentlessly tackling challenging projects, delivering on the impossible, and making an impact on the future of space.
Responsibilities

Support the development of payload software and external interfaces.

Focus on operating system deployments for space sensor payloads.

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements to support.

Utilize knowledge of Linux fundamentals, fault-tolerant design, and real-time operating systems.
Requirements
-
Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
-
Experience with RTOS, system deployment, testing, and interfaces.

At least 5 years of professional full-time software engineering experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

At least 5 years of professional experience using C/C++ in production-level coding.

Strong Python scripting skills, with a proficiency level of at least 8 out of 10.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position. The role requires regular use of computer keyboards and controls, and effective verbal and written communication. The team thrives in an environment where everyone collaborates to achieve the mission. The work involves launching projects into space, providing a dynamic and innovative atmosphere.
Benefits & conditions
This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $85.00/hr.
