Job description

  • Perform system analysis and design for new applications as well as enhancements to existing systems.
  • Develop, test, and debug new programs or modify existing ones based on specifications and production requirements.
  • Build applications in accordance with detailed design specifications.
  • Design and implement data integration and communication between systems.
  • Complete programming tasks within defined timelines while ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Create and execute test plans and scripts for system validation.
  • Prepare technical specifications, user manuals, and system documentation.
  • Provide production support and troubleshoot system-related issues.
  • Support user acceptance testing, training, and end-to-end system integration testing.
  • Assist in deploying systems into the production environment.
  • Troubleshoot AS/400 system performance issues by analyzing job logs, spool files, and system metrics.
  • Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Collaborate with teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and regulations while performing duties.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS: The following periodic job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to travel if/as needed (less than 10% annually)

Requirements

The minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent IT experience
  • 5+ years IT experience and proficiency with hands-on experience in the following:
  • RPG, RPGLE, Free-format RPGLE
  • CL, CLLE, CLP
  • SQL, SQLRPGLE, Stored Procedures
  • Experience using IBM MQ, FTP, iSeries Navigator, Integrated File System (IFS)
  • Experience with IBMi IWS (Integrated Web Services)
  • Experience with JSON, RESTful APIs, and SOAP web services, including both development and integration
  • Experience in change management tools (Aldon Change Management (ACMS), Implementer, Turnover etc.)
  • Experience in impact analysis tools (Hawkeye, Abstract etc.)

  • Experience in logistics, WMS, and/or manufacturing environment is a strong advantage.
