Are you an experienced HR technology professional who enjoys owning systems end-to-end and delivering solutions that scale globally? This role focuses on leading the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of enterprise HR technology platforms that power the employee lifecycle-from hiring and onboarding through performance development and learning.
As a Senior Application Engineer supporting HR Technologies, you will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for ensuring HR systems are reliable, secure, user-friendly, and aligned with organizational priorities. You’ll work closely with HR leaders, technology partners, security teams, and external vendors to deliver solutions that balance user experience, compliance, and long-term scalability.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys deep technical ownership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration within a complex, professional services environment.
What You’ll Do
HR Systems Ownership & Delivery
- Lead the full lifecycle of HR and talent technology platforms, including implementation, enhancements, optimization, and post-launch support.
- Support systems across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and learning platforms.
Advanced Application Support
- Provide senior-level (Tier 3) support for HR applications, diagnosing complex issues and deploying durable solutions that prevent recurrence.
Technical & Functional Leadership
- Act as the primary technical and functional point of contact for HR systems, advising stakeholders on platform capabilities, configuration options, and future enhancements.
- Partner with HR leaders to shape system roadmaps that align with evolving business needs.
User-Focused Solution Design
- Translate business requirements into thoughtful system configurations that improve usability, efficiency, and adoption.
- Advocate for a strong employee and administrator experience across platforms.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Collaborate with Technology, Security, HR, and vendors to ensure systems meet data privacy, security, and governance requirements.
- Support audits and risk reviews related to HR technology.
Integrations & Data Flow
- Design, build, and maintain integrations between HR platforms and upstream/downstream systems using APIs.
- Ensure accurate, secure, and reliable data exchange across the ecosystem.
Vendor & Partner Collaboration
- Manage working relationships with software vendors and implementation partners, ensuring solutions align with internal standards and long-term strategy.
Reporting & Analytics Enablement
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to develop reporting, dashboards, and analytics that enable data-driven decision-making.
Documentation & Standards
- Create and maintain system documentation, configuration standards, and support procedures to promote consistency, scalability, and operational continuity.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor relationship building?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting and configuring HR technology platforms.
HR Technology Expertise
- Experience working with talent systems such as recruiting, learning management systems (LMS), performance management, and related HR platforms.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and workflows, ideally within a professional services environment.
Implementation & Delivery Experience
- Demonstrated success leading HR system implementations, upgrades, or major enhancements across cross-functional teams.
Technical Skill Set
- Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Python).
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex datasets.
Integration & Identity Knowledge
- Hands-on experience with SaaS platforms, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity technologies such as SAML and OAuth.
Problem-Solving & Ownership
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and driving resolution.
Collaboration & Communication
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
Organization & Adaptability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while operating effectively in a fast-paced environment., * Supporting HR systems in a large professional services or enterprise organization
- Experience with applicant tracking or talent acquisition platforms
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and identity management concepts
- Experience building HR reporting, dashboards, and analytics

$149,000 - $166,000 a year - Full-time
