Senior Software Development Engineer

United Parcel Service General Services Co. seeks Senior Software Development Engineer in Parsippany, NJ:

Job Duties: Identify appropriate agile engineering practices (e.g., Extreme Programming techniques such as pair programming and test-driven development) and coach others in applying in software development projects. Contribute to product development by identifying industry change, listening to customer needs and gain insight how customers utilize technology, capturing feedback and communicating that feedback to the business and suggest areas of improvement. Integrate timelines and milestones across projects, identifying areas of synergy or dependency. Determine actual or potential gaps in resourcing for projects and recommends strategies to mitigate. Evaluate the progress of projects and makes adjustments (e.g., to task order or timeline) to keep the project on track. Conduct a deep review of data and issues and recommend interim and long-term solutions to quickly reveal the root cause of problem and ensure successful resolution. Execute solutions to complex problems; guides the analysis of a problem all the way to a successful resolution. Creatively test and maintain software applications and related programs and procedures by using a variety of software development tools following design requirements of customer. Recommend and plan for application of agile methodologies vs. traditional methodologies, based on comparison of various approaches to achieve the most effective development outcome. Partial telecommuting is an option. Hybrid work from company office in Parsippany, NJ.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field, OR Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Azure; (2) Xamarin; (3) MAUI; (4) deployment and maintenance of software applications developed for Web/Mobile platforms; (5) Android Profiler. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Partial telecommuting is an option. Hybrid work from company office in Parsippany, NJ.
