Job description

We are seeking a talented and innovative Web Designer & Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating visually appealing, user-friendly websites and digital interfaces, ensuring optimal functionality across various devices and platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, combining creative design with technical development to deliver engaging online experiences., * Design and develop responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap, React, Angular, and Vue.js.

  • Implement user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) best practices through wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing using tools like Adobe XD, Figma, Axure, Balsamiq, and InVision.
  • Maintain and update existing websites built on content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, and SharePoint.
  • Optimise websites for search engines (SEO) by applying best practices in content structuring and metadata management.
  • Develop custom functionalities using PHP, Python, Node.js, SQL, MySQL, and other back-end technologies.
  • Create graphic assets and visual content with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, and Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Conduct user research to inform design decisions and improve overall usability and information architecture.
  • Analyse website performance using Google Analytics and data analysis tools to identify areas for optimisation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including content creators, marketers, and developers to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Perform website maintenance tasks such as troubleshooting issues, updating plugins or modules, and ensuring security compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in digital design and web development with a strong portfolio demonstrating responsive web design projects.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS/SASS), JavaScript (including AJAX & Redux), PHP, Python, Node.js, SQL/MySQL databases.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap, React, Angular; back-end systems such as WordPress or Drupal; and version control tools like Git.
  • Skilled in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; experience with Adobe XD or Figma for prototyping.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimisation techniques to enhance visibility and performance.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal is essential.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles alongside wireframing tools like Balsamiq or Axure.
  • Ability to conduct user research and usability testing to inform design improvements.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • A recognised qualification in web design or development is preferred but not mandatory.
