Job description

We are seeking a Junior Game Developer with Java and libGDX experience to support AI Training and evaluation projects. In this role, you will apply your game development knowledge to help improve next-generation AI systems by contributing real-world programming expertise, reviewing game logic, and evaluating interactive 2D game development workflows.

This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity, not a traditional game development position. Contributors will work on project-based AI training and evaluation tasks designed to improve how AI systems understand game programming, gameplay mechanics, debugging, and software engineering concepts., * Contribute to AI training, benchmarking, and evaluation projects involving 2D game development.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize simple game features using Java and the libGDX framework.
  • Implement and evaluate core gameplay systems, including game loops, sprite management, and input handling.
  • Review, debug, and improve game code for correctness, maintainability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve AI understanding of game development workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to software quality and coding best practices.
  • Document technical processes, implementation decisions, and development workflows clearly.
  • Provide regular feedback and collaborate remotely to improve AI-generated code and technical solutions.

Requirements

No prior AI experience is required. What matters most is practical experience with Java and libGDX, strong programming fundamentals, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly., * Basic proficiency in Java programming and object-oriented programming principles.

  • Hands-on experience with libGDX through coursework, personal projects, prototypes, or professional work.
  • Understanding of fundamental game development concepts, including game loops, sprites, input handling, and basic game architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clear technical documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in game development and interactive application design.
  • Willingness to complete an AI interview as part of the hiring process., * Portfolio of personal, academic, or open-source game projects (GitHub repositories or playable demos encouraged).
  • Familiarity with vectors, collision detection, animation systems, or basic 2D physics.
  • Experience using Git for version control and collaborative software development.
  • Knowledge of modern game development workflows and software engineering best practices.
  • Interest in AI, interactive simulations, or emerging game technologies.
