Linux Administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE)
VMware (vSphere/vCenter)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
Hybrid cloud infrastructure (on-prem + cloud)
Cloud migrations (VMware HCX or similar)
Automation (Terraform, Ansible, scripting)
Enterprise virtualization and compute platforms, Seeking a hands-on Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise compute platforms across on-premises data centers and Google Cloud Platform for a retail home security organization. This engineer will focus on GCP infrastructure, Linux platforms, VMware virtualization, cloud migrations, automation, and hybrid infrastructure operations. What Recruiters Should Look For
5-8+ years of Infrastructure, Cloud, or Platform Engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially Compute Engine (GCE)
Linux systems administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE)
VMware administration (vSphere/vCenter); HCX migration experience is a plus
Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (preferred) or similar tools
Automation experience using Ansible, scripting, or similar technologies
Experience leading infrastructure migrations and server provisioning
Strong understanding of compute, storage, networking, and virtualization
Experience with production support, platform stability, and root cause analysis (RCA)

Nice-to-Have

IBM Power Systems (PowerVM)
AIX administration
Multi-cloud experience (AWS/Azure)
DevOps, CI/CD, and automation-first engineering practices
Cloud or Linux certifications (GCP, AWS, Azure, RHCSA/RHCE)
