Requirements

  • Linux Administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE)
  • VMware (vSphere/vCenter)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Hybrid cloud infrastructure (on-prem + cloud)
  • Cloud migrations (VMware HCX or similar)
  • Automation (Terraform, Ansible, scripting)
  • Enterprise virtualization and compute platforms, Seeking a hands-on Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise compute platforms across on-premises data centers and Google Cloud Platform for a retail home security organization. This engineer will focus on GCP infrastructure, Linux platforms, VMware virtualization, cloud migrations, automation, and hybrid infrastructure operations. What Recruiters Should Look For
  • 5-8+ years of Infrastructure, Cloud, or Platform Engineering experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially Compute Engine (GCE)
  • Linux systems administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE)
  • VMware administration (vSphere/vCenter); HCX migration experience is a plus
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (preferred) or similar tools
  • Automation experience using Ansible, scripting, or similar technologies
  • Experience leading infrastructure migrations and server provisioning
  • Strong understanding of compute, storage, networking, and virtualization
  • Experience with production support, platform stability, and root cause analysis (RCA)

Nice-to-Have

  • IBM Power Systems (PowerVM)
  • AIX administration
  • Multi-cloud experience (AWS/Azure)
  • DevOps, CI/CD, and automation-first engineering practices
  • Cloud or Linux certifications (GCP, AWS, Azure, RHCSA/RHCE)
