Job description

Saronic is seeking a talented and organized Associate IT Technician. This role is responsible for providing basic IT support, including setting up and deploying IT equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer experience mindset, and an interest in developing a career in IT. You will be responsible for setting up and staging new hire systems, screening tickets for escalation and assisting the team with ongoing projects., * Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and mobile devices

  • Troubleshoot and resolve or escalate technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.

  • Assist with user access-based incidents and requests.

  • Document and track support tickets using a helpdesk management system, ensuring resolutions are well-documented.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging IT trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions.

  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on complex technical projects, migrations, and system upgrades.

  • Ensure adherence to security best practices, including data protection and access control.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide an excellent experience in support of the business.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Previous role with customer service experience.

  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.

  • Experience with Windows and macOS operating systems.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.

  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a strong ability to prioritize tasks.

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.

  • Bonus Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) or military industry projects.

  • Knowledge of autonomous systems or maritime technology.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Occasional standing and walking within the office.

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

  • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports.

  • Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies.

  • Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages).
