Job description

AdaptiveVets Solutions is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to develop and execute automated test scripts supporting software quality assurance and delivery validation for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

This role ensures the quality and reliability of cloud-native platform services through disciplined automated testing integrated into CI/CD delivery pipelines., * Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for unit, integration, regression, and performance testing of cloud-native and Kubernetes-based services.

  • Implement and maintain CI/CD quality gate testing frameworks to validate all software deliverables prior to production deployment.
  • Coordinate with software engineers and DevSecOps teams to integrate automated tests into delivery pipelines.
  • Design test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria for platform capabilities and sprint deliverables.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
  • Support post-deployment production validation testing to confirm service stability following changes.
  • Maintain test documentation, test results archives, and test environment configurations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (4 additional years of relevant experience may substitute)
  • 5+ years of test automation experience in cloud-native or Kubernetes-based environments
  • Proficiency developing automated test scripts for unit, integration, regression, and performance testing
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD quality gate frameworks
  • Familiarity with test management tools, defect tracking, and quality assurance methodologies, * Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE) or ISTQB certification
  • Familiarity with security testing and Section 508 accessibility validation for Federal platforms
  • Experience with VA, HHS, or comparable Federal IT platform testing

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT (Required)

Experience:

  • Test automation for cloud-native systems: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • ISTQB Certified Tester (Preferred)
  • AWS Certified Developer - Associate (Preferred)

Location and Ability to Commute:

  • Remote

Security clearance:

  • Public Trust (Preferred), * Bachelor’s (Required), * Test Automation Engineering: 5 years (Required)
  • IT: 5 years (Required)
  • Agile product development: 4 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • English (Required)

License/Certification:
