Job description
AdaptiveVets Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud-native services for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
This role contributes to mission-critical VA healthcare platform capabilities in a containerized, DevSecOps-driven delivery environment., * Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud-native services in Kubernetes/EKS environments.
- Implement secure coding practices and develop automated tests within CI/CD quality gate frameworks.
- Support containerized application deployments, sprint deliverables, and production support activities.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.
- Coordinate with DevSecOps and platform teams on deployment processes and operational requirements.
- Support root cause analysis and resolution for production issues, escalating to senior engineers as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (4 additional years of relevant experience may substitute)
- 5+ years of software engineering experience developing applications and APIs in cloud or containerized environments
- Experience with containerized applications, Kubernetes deployments, and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Proficiency in at least one primary programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js)
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and secure coding practices
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate or equivalent
- Experience with VA, HHS, or comparable Federal IT programs
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (Required)
Experience:
- Cloud-native software engineering: 5 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate (Preferred)
- CompTIA Security+ (Preferred)

- Remote
