Test Engineer P&C 1

** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced Test Engineer P&C 1 to fill a one- year contract assignment in the Montgomery, AL area.

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary., * Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices

• Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices
• Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation
• Assist assigned project lead with field assignments
• Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices

Candidate will be required to provide transportation to various reporting locations, minus commute.

Required PPE: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Gloves, Steel/Composite Toe Footwear, FR Clothing, Hearing Protection, Reflective Traffic Vest

Worker must wear EH footwear and 100% cotton clothing at all times while working in substation environment

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned office location
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 4 year BS Engineering Degree (Electrical Preferred)
• 0-3 years’ experience in Engineering or similar role
• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
• Experience with AC & DC systems
• Computer skills
• Basic AC & DC electrical system understanding and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with electrical industry / equipment
• Ability to read/ interpret electrical blueprint/schematic drawings
• Good writing and communication skills
