Job description

You are a passionate and resourceful engineer with a strong foundation in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline. Driven by curiosity and a desire to make a tangible impact, you thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to solve complex challenges in the semiconductor and EDA (Electronic Design Automation) space. You bring hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools and a solid understanding of IC/ASIC design flows, from RTL to GDSII. Your analytical mindset enables you to dissect technical problems, investigate root causes, and propose effective solutions, while your communication skills allow you to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for both customers and colleagues. You are comfortable taking initiative, learning quickly, and adapting to new technologies and methodologies. Your commitment to excellence and reliability makes you a trusted team player, and you value building strong, respectful relationships within a diverse, global team. You are excited to contribute your expertise to help customers achieve success, and you welcome opportunities to grow and expand your technical skills in a dynamic, innovative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop deep expertise in one or more Synopsys EDA products, working independently to support customer needs.
  • Provide high-quality customer support by answering questions about tool functionality, setup, and best practices.
  • Triage and investigate customer-reported product defects, collaborating with R&D to identify root causes and drive resolution.
  • Document and communicate detailed product enhancement requests based on customer feedback and emerging requirements.
  • Assist with technical evaluations, benchmarks, and tool demonstrations, taking direction from senior mentors while building your own expertise.
  • Foster trust and respect among team members through effective communication, reliability, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and knowledge-sharing within the team.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Enable customers to maximize the value of Synopsys EDA tools, accelerating their chip design cycles and innovation.
  • Enhance product quality and customer satisfaction by rapidly identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Drive product enhancements by channeling customer insights and technical expertise to R&D teams.
  • Support the adoption of advanced methodologies for digital, mixed-signal, and analog design, including low power and reliability analyses.
  • Strengthen Synopsys’ reputation as a trusted technology partner through exceptional support and technical guidance.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base, empowering colleagues and customers to solve future challenges efficiently.

Requirements

  • MS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with EDA tools for layout, Static Timing Analysis, Extraction (SPEF/DSPF), and Spice simulations.
  • Solid understanding of IC/ASIC design flows, from RTL to GDSII, and custom circuit analysis and design.
  • Programming proficiency in Python, Tcl, or similar languages for workflow automation and tool customization.
  • Knowledge of low power design methodologies, voltage drop (EMIR), and reliability analysis techniques.

Who You Are:

  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in geographically distributed teams.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to evolving technologies and processes.
  • Detail-oriented and reliable in meeting commitments and deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements and team activities.
