Job description

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Linux Administrator on behalf of our client in Owings Mills, MD. This role is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure professional with strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, system administration, automation, and enterprise monitoring. The successful candidate will support critical Linux infrastructure, ensure system reliability and security, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a stable production environment., Administer, maintain, and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8 & 9) environments. Perform operating system patching, firmware updates, and routine system maintenance. Manage user access, shared resource permissions, and system requests. Monitor infrastructure health and performance using Prometheus and Grafana. Support disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and operational readiness. Manage and troubleshoot physical and virtual Linux servers. Automate administrative tasks using Ansible and shell scripting. Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks. Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and resolve critical issues.

Requirements

Strong experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8 & 9). Hands-on experience with Linux server administration in physical and virtual environments. Experience with operating system patching, firmware upgrades, and system maintenance. Proficiency with Prometheus and Grafana for infrastructure monitoring. Experience with Ansible and Linux scripting for automation. Knowledge of disaster recovery processes and infrastructure support. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain clear technical documentation. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment and participate in an on-call support rotation. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting enterprise-scale Linux infrastructure. Familiarity with IT operational best practices and infrastructure automation. Experience working in production environments with high availability requirements.
