Job description

A healthcare insurance provider is looking for a Sr Backend Java Microservices Developer to join their team remotely aligned to EST. The Senior Backend Microservices Java Developer is being brought in to support a major strategic platform overhaul and consolidation of grievances and appeals systems for a large healthcare insurance organization. This role will focus on designing, building, and modernizing scalable backend microservices that support mission-critical workflows, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring deep backend engineering expertise, cloud-native design experience, and a strong understanding of building secure, high-performance services that integrate with enterprise databases while handling sensitive healthcare data.

Requirements

7+ years of experience as a Backend Microservices Developer

Strong experience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Hands-on expertise building and supporting microservices-based architectures

Proficiency in Java 21, Spring Boot, and Python for backend service development

Proven experience building micro-backend services and integrating with relational and/or NoSQL databases Healthcare domain experience or demonstrated experience working with PII/PHI data in regulated environments (HIPAA)
