Job description

Join our dynamic team as a Network Cabling Technician and become a vital part of building reliable, high-performance network infrastructure. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems that support data, voice, video, and telecommunication networks. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity across various facilities, enabling organizations to operate efficiently and securely. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment where your technical skills make a tangible impact every day., * Install, terminate, and test network cabling including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and other low-voltage wiring systems in commercial and industrial settings.

  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and network configurations.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, cable testers, RF testers, and multimeters to identify faults and ensure optimal performance of network infrastructure.
  • Perform fiber splicing and connectorization to establish high-speed data links for data centers or telecommunication systems.
  • Set up and configure networking equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, switches, VoIP systems like Avaya, and Ethernet hardware to ensure robust connectivity.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of network wiring, telephony systems, CCTV cameras, radio frequency (RF) devices, and related equipment.
  • Adhere to electrical codes such as NEC standards while working with AC/DC electrical systems; utilize power tools and hand tools safely during installations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system status, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance procedures.
  • Document installation processes, test results, and service reports accurately for ongoing maintenance records.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in network wiring or telecommunication systems.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networking concepts including LAN setup, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), VLANs, and network troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques and the use of diagnostic tools for testing network integrity.
  • Knowledge of telephony systems such as VoIP solutions (e.g., Avaya) along with associated cabling standards.
  • Experience working in data centers or large-scale IT environments with low voltage wiring requirements.
  • Ability to read schematics effectively and follow detailed technical instructions accurately.
  • Electrical experience including working with NEC standards; comfortable using power tools and hand tools for installation tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters or RF testers.
