Job description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Cabling Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex network cabling systems across various facilities. Your expertise will ensure reliable connectivity for telecommunications, data transfer, and security systems. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for network installation and technical problem-solving, we want to hear from you!, * Install and configure structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage electrical wiring to support telecommunications and data networks.
- Conduct fiber splicing, cable termination, and testing of Ethernet, LAN, VoIP, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and other telecommunication systems.
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, telecommunications testing equipment, and RF testers to troubleshoot network issues and ensure optimal system performance.
- Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to accurately install and modify communication systems according to project specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on network wiring infrastructure while adhering to safety standards.
- Collaborate with field service teams to install CCTV cameras, access control systems, and radio frequency (RF) testing for security applications.
- Document all installation activities, test results, and system configurations thoroughly for future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience in telecommunications or network cabling installation with knowledge of Ethernet wiring standards (Cat5e/Cat6), fiber optic systems, and structured cabling practices.
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems, and telecommunication protocols.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, cable testers, fiber splicing equipment, and telecommunication testing devices.
- Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints accurately for installation purposes.
- Experience with low-voltage electrical wiring including AC/DC electrical systems is preferred.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools necessary for cable installation and equipment setup.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as climbing ladders or working in confined spaces; willingness to work in various environments.
