Job description

We’re looking for a Front-End Web Developer to join our Web/Dev team.

You’ll work closely with designers, strategists and back-end developers to build fast, responsive websites and digital experiences for a wide range of clients. Most of our projects are bespoke WordPress websites, but no two projects are the same.

This role would suit someone who enjoys writing clean, maintainable code, pays attention to detail and genuinely cares about the quality of what they produce.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building responsive, high-quality websites from approved designs.
  • Developing bespoke WordPress themes and front-end functionality.
  • Creating accessible, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Working with designers to ensure websites match the intended user experience.
  • Collaborating with back-end developers where required.
  • Optimising websites for speed, performance and Core Web Vitals.
  • Testing across browsers and devices.
  • Maintaining and improving existing client websites.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving front-end issues.
  • Contributing ideas to improve our development processes and standards.

Requirements

  • Commercial experience in front-end web development.
  • Excellent HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript.
  • Experience developing bespoke WordPress websites.
  • Strong understanding of responsive development.
  • Experience working from Figma designs.
  • Good understanding of web accessibility and usability.
  • Familiarity with Git/version control.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative team.

Desirable

  • Experience with PHP.
  • Experience using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
  • Experience with WooCommerce.
  • Knowledge of website performance optimisation.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
  • Understanding of SEO best practice from a development perspective.

What You’ll Need

  • A portfolio demonstrating commercial work.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines.
  • Pride in producing high-quality work.

Benefits & conditions

We’re building an agency that values thoughtful work over unnecessary process. You’ll work alongside strategists, designers, marketers and developers who enjoy solving complex problems together.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects across different industries, contribute ideas, develop your skills and help shape how we build digital products as the business grows.

If you’re looking for somewhere that values quality, collaboration and continuous improvement, we’d like to hear from you.

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company events
  • Free fitness classes
  • Gym membership
  • On-site parking
  • Sick pay

Application question(s):

  • Are you within a 45 minute commute of the office (SS1)?
  • Have you attached / included a portfolio of your work?
