Deltek Finance Systems Manager

SystemsAccountants are working with an organisation to source their Finance Systems Manager to own their live Deltek VantagePoint system and work on continuous system improvement and expand platform capability.

The successful candidate would be recognised as the in-house expert on their ERP and project management Vantagepoint system, working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, IT and the wider business.

Role Responsibilities

• Becoming the sole Systems Owner of the Deltek Vantagepoint system
• Lead future Vantagepoint upgrades, owning the planning, coordination and delivery.
• Drive Vantagepoint rollouts for newly acquired businesses, embedding new entities with minimal disruption
• Design and implement scalable processes and controls to support the onboarding of future acquisitions into Vantagepoint.
• Lead data migration and data validation where necessary for new entities onboarded onto Vantagepoint
• Roll out new platform functionality, managing configuration, access controls, and change governance
• Hold the vendor to account on their delivery and support services
• Maintain and improve integrations between Vantagepoint and other business applications
• Develop reporting through Vantagepoint, Power BI, and Excel
• Oversee system configuration, access management, segregation of duties and change-control governance
• Lead user acceptance testing programmes for upgrades, migrations and new functionality.
• Establish and maintain robust system documentation, including migration logs, process maps and change records.
• Provide guidance, training and escalation support to Finance and operational users across the business.
• Champion continuous improvement across finance systems, identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve data quality and strengthen controls.

• A strong background in finance systems, ERP management or systems accounting, with hands-on experience leading an ERP upgrade or implementation
• Experience in Deltek Vantagepoint, or a similar project-based ERP environment (ie Deltek Maconomy)
• Strong understanding of financial processes across GL, AP/AR, reporting etc.
• Must have a solid understanding of project accounting across WIP, billing, time recording, revenue recognition etc.
• Proven delivery of financial data migrations - mapping, cleansing, validation and cutover
• Confident stakeholder skills up to senior/Board level, with the drive to run projects independently
• Project management skills, able to lead on continuous improvement initiatives and projects
• Experience within a consultancy, professional-services or project-based organisation.
• Exposure to Power BI and system integrations using ODBC, SQL or APIs
• A relevant finance or accounting qualification
