Design Engineer

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Design Engineer will design sheet metal products from components to complete assemblies. This role focuses on meeting customer production and quality standards while ensuring on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, collaborative, and comfortable working on engineered-to-order and reverse engineering projects.

Role Responsibilities

• Design and develop parts for manufacture from customer models
• Review and interpret customer specifications to ensure manufacturability with current capabilities
• Program and maintain design layouts in SolidWorks
• Redesign standard products to improve quality, productivity, and cost efficiency
• Evaluate and select components and materials for products
• Collaborate with purchasing to initiate purchase orders for required components
• Provide technical support for customers, service personnel, and field sales teams

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3-5 years of experience
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Experience with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints
• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle non-standard situations and ambiguous project requirements, * Metal fabrication: 2 years (Required)
