Infrastructure Engineer

You will have hands-on experience designing,implementingand supporting infrastructure solutions, balancing project delivery with operational support responsibilities within an Agile delivery framework.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including core services such as networking, compute, storage,identityand security.

• Experience implementing andmaintainingInfrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Good understanding of Azure networking concepts including Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, VPNs, Network Security Groups,routingand DNS.

• Experience with traditional infrastructure technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualisationplatformsand enterprise storage solutions.

• Exposure to containerisation technologies such as Docker,ACAand/or AKS, with an understanding of how containerised workloads areoperatedand supported within a production environment.

• Strong automation mindset with hands-on experience using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Azure DevOps and Git to automate infrastructure deployment,configurationand operational processes.

• Experience administering identity and access management solutions, including Entra ID (Azure AD).

• Understanding of infrastructure security best practices, vulnerabilitymanagementand disaster recovery planning.

• Experience monitoring, troubleshooting and optimising infrastructure performance across cloud and on-premises platforms.

• Experience working within Agile delivery teams and collaborating with engineering,securityand networking teams.

This role will involve on-call working on a rota basis (24/7)

To be successful in this role you willbe requiredto pass an enhanced security vetting process.

What does this role involve?

As an Infrastructure Engineer,you’llbe at the heart of modernising and running a cloud-first platform that the business depends on every day.You’lldesign and build scalable, secure infrastructure across Azure, balancing performance,resilienceand cost.

A big part of your role will be driving automation through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, helping to remove manual processes and create consistent, repeatable environments.You’llalso play a key role in evolving the estate, supporting the move from traditional VM-based setups towards more flexible, containerised solutions.

Day to day,you’llmonitorand optimise system performance, resolve issues before theyimpactusers, and strengthen security across the environment.You’llcollaborate closely with engineering,securityand network teams to ensure everything works seamlessly, while contributing to disaster recovery planning to keep the business running no matter what.
