Job description

Reviews problems/concerns reported by the customer, investigates causes, identifies problem sources and recommends solutions, tests and installs software applications, documents the result of testing the application. Provides steps for resolution, explains preventative measures and follows up with uses. Works with school districts to implement security for software applications using best practices to ensure data security and privacy. Assists in training of staff in the use of software and administrative applications.

Requirements

  • Completion of 30 semester credits from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, including 15 semester credits in Business Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field; OR

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalency diploma and one year of experience providing customer service and support directly to users of technology hardware and/or software programs; OR

  • An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A) and B) above.

  • Broome County Civil Service Examination required

Special Note: Because of the radical evolution of technology in this field, qualifying experience must have been gained within the last five (5) years
