Job description

Newaygo Public Schools is seeking a detail-oriented, service-minded individual to support the district’s student information system (PowerSchool), data reporting needs, and overall technology operations. This role ensures data integrity, compliance, and top-tier tech support for staff and students., * PowerSchool & Data Management: Serve as primary support for PowerSchool operations. Assist staff with troubleshooting, maintain data integrity, handle student scheduling/grading workflows, and manage district, state, and federal reporting requirements.

  • Technology Support: Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and peripherals. Coordinate deployment, collection, inventory, and repair of district-issued devices (e.g., Chromebooks).
  • Customer Service: Train staff on technology systems, communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users, and maintain absolute data confidentiality.

Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience with PowerSchool SIS and data report generation.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Degree in IT, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a K-12 educational setting and familiarity with Michigan state reporting .
  • Experience managing student device deployment (Chromebooks).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/transport equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional travel between district buildings.
