The primary responsibilities of the Financial Information System Application Consultant include developing and maintaining software reports, creating and supporting automated processes, and assisting database administrators with basic server operations related to the management of the Financial Information System (FIS) package (PowerSchool) for St. Clair County RESA customers., * Provide daily technical support to customers through telephone, email, and direct contact.
- Conduct customer training in various formats, including web-based sessions, in-person group settings, and one-on-one instruction.
- Prepare training materials, written procedural guides, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Conduct quality assurance testing and documentation for new applications, features, and functionalities.
- Be self-motivated and willing to take on critical application-related tasks.
- Assist customers in developing specialized reports and implementing reporting changes.
- Make independent decisions and solve problems to contribute to the department’s success, and provide backup assistance to peers as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer or business-related field preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in customer support is desired, with knowledge of school business being highly valued.
- Good working knowledge of computer environments, including Windows, Microsoft Office, Google applications, web browsers, and email systems, is required.
- Experience with PowerSchool Business Plus is preferred, but training on the software will be provided.
- Familiarity with SQL Server, Python, and PowerShell is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new applications and systems is essential.
- Candidates should be capable of supporting customers of varying skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with co-workers, staff, school districts, community agencies, and the public is crucial.Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position., * Bachelor’s degree preferred.Citizenship, residency or work visa required
