Job description

In your role as a Senior System Engineer / System Architect (m/f/d) at TDK-Micronas GmbH, you will play a central role in the product development process and make a significant contribution to the design of innovative sensor solutions. Your responsibilities include:

  • Member of the Project Core Team: Collaborate with the “Product Line Management,” “Project Management,” and “Product Engineering” departments to form the “Product Core Team” and take full responsibility for system development.
  • Definition of Sensor Systems: Develop and define the overall concept for sensor systems, ensuring they meet all specified requirements.
  • System Architecture Development: Design and define the block-level structure of integrated mixed-signal circuits.
  • Requirements Analysis and Specification: Translate system requirements, such as those from sensor or signal processing applications, into detailed technical specifications for IC design.
  • Block and Module Architecture: Define interfaces, data paths, clock and power supply concepts, as well as functional blocks at the chip level.
  • Collaboration with System and Software Teams: Work closely with teams from the embedded software, system, and application departments to ensure the overall functionality of the system.
  • Evaluation of Architectural Alternatives: Analyze design alternatives in terms of performance, area, power consumption, cost, and development effort.
  • System-Level Modeling and Simulation: Use tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, SystemC, or Python to validate architectural concepts.
  • Design Reviews and Technical Leadership: Conduct architecture reviews, provide technical expertise to design teams, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Documentation and Communication: Create technical documentation and presentations while effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Customer Contact: Act as the primary technical point of contact for key customers and contribute to the successful implementation of customer requirements.

Requirements

  • You hold a degree (bachelor’s or master’s) in physics, electronics, microsystems engineering, or a related field.
  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering with a focus on sensor technology and system architecture.
  • You have a solid understanding of sensor calibration concepts as well as comprehensive knowledge of sensor characterization and evaluation.
  • You have experience in IC development with a focus on IC concepts and block-level definitions.
  • You have programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or C/C++, or comparable languages.
  • You are familiar with risk analysis tools such as FMEA, FMEDA, or DRFBM.
  • You excel in communication, including the ability to present complex technical data clearly to both stakeholders and customers.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English.
