Network Support Technician

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Network Support Technician to join our IT team. You will play a vital role in supporting network operations, implementing best practices, and ensuring high availability of critical systems., * Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, SANs (Storage Area Networks), and wireless access points to ensure optimal performance and security.

• Monitor network health using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk; proactively identify and resolve issues related to LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol), and other network protocols.
• Manage network security by implementing firewalls such as Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), and configuring encryption protocols like IPsec and SSL/TLS; conduct vulnerability assessments and system hardening to safeguard against threats.
• Support network support activities including DNS (Domain Name System), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), Active Directory, GPO (Group Policy Objects), and SSO (Single Sign-On) integrations.
• Assist with system administration tasks across operating systems including Windows, Linux distributions like Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Solaris, BSD variants, macOS, and VMware ESXi; automate processes using PowerShell, Bash scripting, Ansible, and Python.
• Collaborate on network architecture design for high availability solutions utilizing load balancing techniques and virtualization platforms such as vSphere and Citrix; ensure disaster recovery readiness with backup strategies involving SFTP, FTP, NFS (Network File System), SAN storage solutions.
• Participate in Agile development cycles by supporting DevOps practices that enhance deployment pipelines through APIs integration and system automation tools.

Do you have experience in Windows?, * Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP stack, routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks), Ethernet standards, QoS (Quality of Service), DHCP/DNS management.

• Proficiency with network security technologies including firewalls like Cisco ASA or Juniper devices; IDS/IPS systems; VPN setup with IPsec or SSL; encryption methods; vulnerability assessment tools like SolarWinds or Splunk.
• Experience with network infrastructure components such as RAID controllers for storage redundancy; SAN configurations; load balancers; high availability architectures; MPLS networks; MPLS VPNs.
• Familiarity with operating systems including Windows Server environments; Linux distributions such as Debian or CentOS; UNIX variants like BSD or Solaris; macOS environments.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere/ESXi or Citrix XenServer; scripting skills in Bash or PowerShell for automation tasks; configuration management using Ansible or similar tools.
• Knowledge of cloud services including AWS or Azure for hybrid cloud integration; implementing VPNs for remote access solutions using remote access software or SSH tunnels.
• Strong understanding of ITIL best practices for network management; experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG to ensure system uptime.
• Ability to perform system hardening procedures to secure operating systems and applications against vulnerabilities; familiarity with LDAP integration for authentication services.
