Job description

This position requires a motivated and technically skilled Process Engineer (Mining) to support our mining operations by optimizing process performance, improving plant efficiency, and ensuring safe and sustainable processing practices. This role plays a key part in bridging mining, geology, and plant operations to deliver high-quality product outcomes.

This position requires a champion of a strong safety culture and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company standards., TechnicalOperational Support

  • Provide process engineering support to mining operations to ensure efficient and safe mineral processing
  • Collaborate with Mine Manager, Mine Engineer, Geologist, and other stakeholders to define short-term processing requirements
  • Analyze mineralogical data and recommend process adjustments or additional sampling/testing
  • Ensure product quality meets customer specifications in coordination with technical teams

Plant PerformanceOptimization

  • Monitor and review plant performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct process audits, surveys, and performance evaluations
  • Optimize process systems, including: *

  • Pump and pipeline design
  • Materials handling systems
  • Process water balance and conservation
  • Maintain process instrumentation accuracy and reliability
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend improvements

ProjectContinuous Improvement

  • Contribute to plant design modifications and process improvements
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to drive operational excellence
  • Assist in the development of innovative processing solutions

PlanningCollaboration

  • Partner with planning teams to support development of new mining sites

  • Provide technical training and guidance to operations personnel
  • Promote safe work practices among employees and contractors

Requirements

Do you have experience in Stakeholder relationship building?, * Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or related field

  • Experience in mineral sands, mining, or heavy industry processing environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of mineral processing principles and plant operations
  • Experience with process optimization, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence outcomes
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship
