Job description

NexGen Technologies is seeking a Cloud Integration Developer to support a federal civilian modernization program by developing, integrating, and optimizing cloud-based solutions for mission-critical applications. This role is responsible for implementing cloud services, building reusable components, supporting system integrations, and ensuring alignment with federal security, governance, and modernization requirements. The Cloud Integration Developer performs advanced, professional work requiring independent judgment in implementing cloud solutions, translating technical requirements into functional deployments, and ensuring that cloud-hosted systems meet mission needs for scalability, security, and performance. Experience developing modern cloud services, automation pipelines, and distributed system components is strongly preferred to support an innovation-forward modernization initiative. Supervisory Responsibilities

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (as assigned)

  • Develop and integrate cloud services, components, and infrastructure patterns using Azure, or GCP.
  • Implement cloud-native and hybrid solutions aligning with federal requirements, security standards, and program objectives.
  • Build reusable modules, templates, automation scripts, and integration pipelines to support modernization activities.
  • Translate user stories, functional requirements, and technical constraints into secure, maintainable cloud implementations.
  • Configure cloud environments, networking components, IAM policies, and service integrations.
  • Support cross-bureau expansion by implementing consistent configurations, integrations, and deployment patterns.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata standards, and data classification models as part of solution delivery.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and government stakeholders to validate integration patterns and solution designs.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization of cloud workloads.
  • Ensure cloud implementations support federal ATO/IATO requirements, governance policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Provide technical metrics, implementation updates, and integration recommendations to leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Support release readiness, change management, dependency management, and issue resolution activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience developing or integrating cloud solutions in enterprise or federal environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure, or GCP cloud services, APIs, and infrastructure components.
  • Experience implementing solutions that support scalability, high availability, redundancy, and distributed systems.
  • Proficiency with scripting or development languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript).
  • Experience developing automation pipelines, CI/CD workflows, or infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation).
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery environments running Sprint cadence.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting federal agencies or multi-bureau modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data dictionary development.
  • Experience contributing to phased modernization efforts, including discovery, planning, and cross-organization expansion.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) or related technical domains.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regulated federal environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or U.S. work authorization with a minimum of three years of U.S. presence, as required for federal contracts.
