Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Network Engineer to join our innovative IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures that support our organization’s operations. Your expertise in computer networking, network security, and system administration will be vital in ensuring seamless connectivity, high availability, and robust security across all platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence and continuous improvement., * Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise-wide network architecture including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), and data center networks to ensure high performance and reliability.

  • Configure and manage network security devices such as firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and Cisco ISE for identity services and access control.
  • Implement and troubleshoot routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, and IPsec VPN configurations to establish secure and efficient data pathways.
  • Maintain network infrastructure equipment including Cisco routers, Meraki switches, Juniper devices, and VMware vSphere environments to support virtualization and cloud integration.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, PRTG, and SolarWinds to identify potential security threats; develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Support system administration tasks across operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian), UNIX variants (Solaris, BSD), and macOS to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop scripts using Bash, PowerShell, Python or Ansible for automation of network management tasks; monitor network performance with tools like Nagios or PRTG.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues related to networking hardware or software components; perform regular maintenance to prevent outages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design projects involving cloud security (AWS, Azure), load balancing solutions, high availability configurations, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Manage remote access solutions including SSH, SFTP, VPNs, remote desktop software; ensure secure communications systems are operational at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing and supporting complex computer networks within enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols along with experience configuring DNS, DHCP, NAT (Network Address Translation), GPO (Group Policy Objects), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), and NFS (Network File System).
  • Hands-on experience with network security best practices including encryption standards such as SSL/TLS; vulnerability assessment methodologies; familiarity with SIEM tools like Splunk.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Citrix; experience managing SAN storage solutions is a plus.
  • Background in system troubleshooting across multiple operating systems-Windows Server environments as well as Linux distributions like Ubuntu or openSUSE-is essential.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication systems including VoIP technologies; experience supporting high availability architectures using load balancers is preferred.
  • Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) principles applied within DevOps practices; proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python for automation tasks is advantageous.
  • Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS are highly desirable; familiarity with ITIL frameworks enhances your suitability for this role.
