Job description

As an IT Technician, you will provide hands on technical support across school environments, ensuring the smooth running of ICT systems used by staff and students.

You will troubleshoot issues, maintain infrastructure and support the deployment of new hardware and software solutions. The role requires someone who can work both independently and as part of a wider technical team while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide onsite and remote IT support to school staff and students

· Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues

· Install and configure new desktops, laptops and devices

· Maintain printers and resolve printing related issues

· Support Windows Server environments

· Assist with network troubleshooting and connectivity issues

· Manage user accounts and permissions

· Support Microsoft Office and Exchange environments

· Build and configure desktop PCs

· Support classroom technology including whiteboards and projectors

· Maintain school AV equipment and classroom displays

· Deliver responsive technical support to education clients

Requirements

The successful candidate will be technically capable, customer focused and comfortable working in school environments.

Essential experience

· Previous IT support experience within schools

· Windows Server environments

· Microsoft Office support

· Desktop hardware builds and repairs

· Basic networking troubleshooting

Technical skills

· Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016

· Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows 10

· Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, 2016

· Exchange 2007 and 2010

· Printer troubleshooting and repair

· Classroom technology such as interactive whiteboards and projectors

You will also have strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm when resolving technical issues in busy school environments.
