Job description

Work with the MSC helpdesk team to resolve support calls within SLA
-
Escalate and manage third-party suppliers to drive resolution of complex issues
-
Carry out IT audits and provide recommendations on the school’s environment
-
Own incident management from identification through to resolution and documentation
-
Support and contribute to the wider MSC team
Requirements
IMPORTANT: All applicants must have secondary school IT experience. Applications without this will not be considered. You must hold or be eligible to hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate., Essential:
-
Minimum 3 years’ IT support experience within a secondary school - this is a firm requirement
-
Strong working knowledge of Windows Desktop and Microsoft 365
-
Active Directory and Group Policy administration
-
Mobile Device Management experience - Intune and/or JAMF
-
Excellent communication skills - you will be the face of IT for staff and students
-
Strong documentation habits and a disciplined approach to ticket management
-
Ability to prioritise effectively across multiple open incidents
-
Client-first mindset - technically strong and people-aware in equal measure
-
Eligible to hold an Enhanced DBS certificate
Desirable:
-
Experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, PowerShell scripting and server infrastructure
-
Networking experience - VLANs, managed switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi infrastructure
-
Experience with SCCM, Intune, JAMF and cloud-based deployment tooling
-
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and M365 advanced administration
-
Autotask and Datto stack experience (advantageous)

Chromebook and Apple device management in a school environment, * secondary education support: 3 years (required)

MSC IT Solutions is a growing IT Managed Service Provider specialising in the education sector. We work with schools and colleges across the UK, and we’re looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join us embedded on site at a secondary school in Wembley, London.
This is a hands-on technical role with real variety. You’ll be the primary IT presence across a dual campus school, investigating a wide range of technical issues, working with modern technologies, and acting as a trusted technical point of contact for staff and students. There is genuine opportunity to explore new technologies in both test and live environments, and we’ll support your development with industry-recognised training and qualifications.
