Job description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented IT Equipment Technician to assist with a short-term office relocation project. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience setting up computer equipment, organizing workstations, and supporting office moves.

  • Set up and relocate desktop computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, docking stations, and other peripherals.
  • Connect computer equipment, power cables, and accessories according to company standards.
  • Organize and secure cabling, ensuring all cable management meets established guidelines.
  • Follow seating charts to accurately install equipment at designated employee workstations.
  • Handle computer equipment and electronics with care to prevent damage during setup and relocation.
  • Utilize basic hand tools, including screwdrivers, to assemble or install equipment as needed.
  • Assist with workstation moves while maintaining an organized and efficient work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines throughout the project.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with IT hardware setup, office relocations, computer deployments, or similar technical support work preferred.
  • Experience connecting monitors, peripherals, and workstation equipment.
  • Familiarity with cable management best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Mac operating systems is a plus.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written instructions and seating charts accurately.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces while routing cables and connecting equipment.
  • Comfortable performing light physical labor throughout the workday.

Work Environment

  • 100% on-site position.
  • Active office environment during business hours (and potentially after hours, depending on project needs).
  • Appropriate attire and closed-toe shoes are required.
