Job description

  1. Own critical chemical infrastructure: Take technical ownership of our Chemical Distribution Systems (CDS), Gas Distribution Systems (GDS), Slurry Distribution Systems (SDS) and other chemical utility systems that support semiconductor production.
  2. Ensure reliable plant operation: Maintain safe, reliable and uninterrupted operation of critical chemical supply systems while ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.
  3. Solve complex engineering challenges: Lead troubleshooting activities, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and implement sustainable corrective actions to improve long-term system reliability.
  4. Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to increase system availability, improve operational performance and optimize maintenance strategies through data-driven engineering.
  5. Support expansion projects: Contribute to the design, construction, commissioning and start-up of new chemical distribution systems and facility upgrades.
  6. Define engineering standards: Develop and improve preventive maintenance concepts, operating procedures, technical documentation, training materials and engineering standards.
  7. Coach and support technical teams: Provide technical guidance to technicians and junior engineers while promoting knowledge sharing across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline
  2. Several years of experience operating, maintaining or engineering complex chemical process or utility systems within industrial environments
  3. Experience from one or more of the following industries is highly valued: Semiconductor, Specialty Chemicals, Chemical, Processing, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Industrial Gas, Advanced Manufacturing
  4. Experience with industrial process plants or chemical utility systems
  5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  6. Experience with commissioning, maintenance or plant operations
  7. Knowledge of engineering documentation, operating procedures and maintenance strategies
  8. Fluent German and English skills
  9. Willingsness to travel to Taiwan for a 3-month technical training program
