Job description

  • Security Engineering & Operations: Engineer, deploy, and maintain security devices supporting connections to networks. Perform daily engineering operations for vulnerability scanning tools and their supporting infrastructure.
  • Vulnerability & Patch Management: Support vulnerability management, identification programs, and continuous monitoring for Certification and Accreditation (C&A). Perform patch and vulnerability management tasks as assigned.
  • Threat Analysis & Remediation: Conduct technical analysis of vulnerability data. Provide and implement remediation recommendations for operating systems, web applications, databases, and networks.
  • Documentation & Troubleshooting: Create, maintain, and refine documentation for day-to-day procedures. When problems arise, document the issue and the troubleshooting steps taken to remediate it for future reference.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication: Communicate in a clear, concise, and logical manner. Participate actively in team meetings, take clear notes, listen attentively, and report findings to leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operational performance, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide seamless customer service.
  • Administrative Support: Perform other administrative and support functions as directed by leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must possess an active interim secret clearance (at minimum)
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience as a Security Analyst or Security Engineer.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) is preferred but not required.
  • DoD 8570/8140 Compliance (Condition of Employment):
  • Must obtain an IAT Level II certification within the first 90 days of hire.
  • Must obtain an IAT Level III certification within the first 6 months of hire.
  • Soft Skills: Proven communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Key Technical Skill Sets

  • Security Appliances: Hands-on experience with the engineering and management of Firewalls (FW), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and SIEM technologies.
  • DoD Tools: Proficiency with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Endpoint Security Solutions (HBSS).
  • Networking: Solid knowledge of common network terminology, TCP/IP addressing, and routing protocols.
  • Systems & Virtualization: Practical experience with VMware. Strong understanding of common operating system security (must include Windows and Linux security at a minimum).
  • Core InfoSec: Basic understanding of defending against cyber-attacks using modern security technologies, along with a firm grasp of the general principles and tenets of information security.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of pay range of $85,000- $98,000/year. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
