Job description
- Triage hardware failures and provide remote troubleshooting guidance to floor technicians
- Review schematics to support root-cause diagnosis and change orders
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting on-site using oscilloscopes and function generators on failed hardware collected during the remote period
- Support obsolescence/component engineering scrubs as needed
- Step in once an initial triage plan is formed to “turn the crank” on active failure events
Requirements
- 2-10 years of combined technician and/or EE experience
- Hands-on hardware/electrical troubleshooting
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes and function generators
- Schematic reading and interpretation
- Comfortable working independently with short-notice on-site travel
Nice to have
- Aerospace experience (not required - automotive, medical devices, surgical robotics, or other safety-critical electronics experience is transferable)
- Circuit simulation experience, LTSpice preferred
- Component engineering / obsolescence scrub experience

Apera is hiring on behalf of a well known, exciting aerospace organisation who are looking to hire a Hardware Support Engineer/ ElectricalTechnician to backfill production support responsibilities.
This contractor will support hardware failure triage, schematic review, and floor-level troubleshooting guidance for electromechanical/electronic systems in production. You will sit in between a pure design engineer and a pure bench technician - reading schematics and diagnosing failures, without owning circuit design.
