Cloud Solutions Engineer

We are growing our Cloud Solutions team and adding a Cloud Solutions Engineer to take on hands-on Azure design, deployment, and delivery work alongside our Manager of Cloud Solutions. This is a client-facing engineering role focused on building and supporting Microsoft cloud environments - from Azure Virtual Desktop and Remote Desktop server farms to virtual machines, networking, cloud telephony, automation, and emerging AI/Copilot solutions., Azure Virtual Desktop & Remote Desktop Services

• AVD deployments - design and deploy Azure Virtual Desktop host pools, including Entra (Azure AD) join, session host configuration, and soon, cloud-only FSLogix profile management via our proprietary design and deployment automation.
• Specialization & audits - help maintain RyanTech’s Microsoft AVD Azure Specialization, including audit preparation and certification against current checklist requirements.

Azure Infrastructure & Networking

• Virtual machines - provision, configure, and support Windows and Linux VMs, including connectivity and access setup.
• Networking - configure and segment network security groups (NSGs), virtual networks, and related Azure networking components.
• Optimization - right-size resources and review App Service Plans and other Azure resources for cost and performance.

Automation, Data & Cloud Telephony

• Automation - build and troubleshoot Logic Apps and Power Automate flows that integrate Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
• Reporting - create Power BI reports and dashboards to surface operational and client-facing insights.
• Teams Phone - provision and support Microsoft Teams Phone, including number port-ins, number mappings, and client telephony migrations.

AI, Copilot & Client Delivery

• AI & Copilot solutions - build and test Copilot agents and Azure AI Foundry workloads, and help clients adopt Microsoft Copilot and modern AI integrations.
• Client engagements - lead requirement-gathering consultations and deliver solutions through the ticket/project queue with clear, proactive communication.
• Documentation & mentorship - write standard operating procedures, review junior engineers’ work, and contribute to repeatable delivery standards.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience engineering and supporting Microsoft Azure environments in a managed services, consulting, or enterprise IT setting.
• Demonstrated experience deploying and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop and/or Remote Desktop Services (RDS) server farms.
• Strong working knowledge of Azure IaaS - virtual machines (Windows and Linux), virtual networks, and network security groups.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and at least one automation tool (Power Automate, Logic Apps, or PowerShell scripting).
• Excellent client-facing communication: able to gather requirements, set expectations, and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Organized and self-directed, comfortable managing multiple client projects and tickets concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

• Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), AZ-140 (Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty), AZ-700 (Networking), or MS-700 (Teams Administrator).
• Microsoft Teams Phone / cloud telephony experience, including number porting and call routing.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, or building AI/Copilot agents.
• Exposure to security and compliance frameworks (e.g., managed security / SOC operations, ISO 27001, PCI).
