Job description

Jaker Tech is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Help Desk Technician / Onsite Technician to join our service team. This is a hands-on IT support role for someone who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and working with a variety of business technology environments. You will provide both remote help desk support and onsite service for our clients, helping them stay productive, secure, and supported.

This position is a good fit for someone who likes variety.Some days you may be troubleshooting user issues remotely, and other days you may be onsite setting up equipment, resolving connectivity problems, or supporting a client project.

What You Will Do

  • Respond to client support requests by phone, email, ticketing system, and remote support tools.
  • Troubleshoot issues involving desktops, laptops, printers, email, Microsoft 365, internet access, Wi-Fi, software, and user accounts.
  • Perform onsite service visits for equipment setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and technology deployments.
  • Set up and configure workstations, monitors, printers, phones, mobile devices, and related equipment.
  • Assist with new user setups, password resets, access changes, and basic account administration.
  • Document work performed, time spent, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Communicate clearly with clients about issue status, next steps, and resolution.
  • Escalate more complex issues to senior technicians or management when needed.
  • Represent Jaker Tech professionally while working with clients remotely and at their locations.
  • Identify recurring issues or opportunities to improve a client’s technology environment., A Typical Day May Include
  • Reviewing and working assigned support tickets.
  • Helping a client user regain access to email or a shared file.
  • Troubleshooting a laptop, printer, or network connection issue.
  • Driving to a client site to install equipment or resolve an onsite support need.
  • Documenting your work so the service team has accurate information.
  • Collaborating with other technicians to resolve a more complex issue.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in help desk, desktop support, IT support, field service, or a related technical role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Teams, email, printers, networking basics, and common business applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and user access issues.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
  • Good written documentation habits and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a service team.
  • Professional appearance and communication when working at client sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for onsite client visits.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.
  • Helpful, But Not Required
  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider or IT services company.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar certifications.
  • Basic experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, endpoint protection, backups, firewalls, switches, VPNs, or wireless networks.
  • Interest in cybersecurity, cloud services, automation, or IT project work.
  • Ability to spot client technology needs that should be brought to the attention of management.
