Job description
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the People and Culture Department by assisting with the coordination of recruiting and onboarding, employee record management, compliance activities, and employee engagement initiatives. The HR Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for candidates and new hires, ensuring a positive onboarding experience while maintaining accurate employee records and supporting HR functions. This position helps ensure compliance with employment laws, organizational policies, and best practices while contributing to a positive workplace culture., * Assist with recruitment events, career fairs, and community outreach efforts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for applicants and new hires throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Coordinate candidate communications and follow up correspondence.
- Assist with ensure all required onboarding documentation is completed accurately, and timely.
- Maintain electronic personnel files for all new employees.
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation.
- Prepare onboarding materials for orientation.
- Monitor onboarding completion and ensure all required training documentation is completed.
HR Administration & Records Management
- Assist with employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and HR programs when necessary.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and changes.
- Attend meetings led by the Chief People and Culture Officer; record, prepare, and distribute meeting minutes, and track action items.
- Provide guidance regarding HR processes and agency policies to staff when needed.
- Assist employees with accessing HR resources and forms when needed.
Employee Engagement & Training Coordination
- Assist with employee recognition programs and engagement activities.
- Assist with coordination of agency-wide orientation and training schedules.
- Support staff development initiatives and organizational events.
- Assist with planning and logistics for HR-related meetings and activities.
Compliance, Reporting & Special Projects
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist with reports and workforce metrics as needed.
- Participate in HR process improvement initiatives.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of two (2) years of administrative, human resources, or related experience.
- Knowledge of HR principles, employment practices, and personnel administration.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines., * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Three (3) or more years of Human Resources experience.
- Experience with nonprofit organizations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience with HRIS systems, electronic personnel records, and applicant tracking systems.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification preferred.
