Job description

Join our dynamic cybersecurity team as an Entry-Level Cybersecurity Engineer, where you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets and infrastructure. This exciting position offers the opportunity to develop foundational skills in cybersecurity, network security, and information assurance while supporting the implementation and maintenance of security systems. You will collaborate with experienced professionals to analyze security threats, assist in vulnerability assessments, and contribute to the development of secure IT infrastructure across diverse environments. If you’re passionate about cybersecurity and eager to grow your expertise in a fast-paced, innovative setting, this role is perfect for you!, * Assist in monitoring and managing network security tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and endpoint detection solutions to identify potential security threats.

  • Support the configuration and administration of firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA), VPNs, and other cybersecurity tools to ensure robust network protection.
  • Participate in vulnerability management activities by conducting vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and security audits aligned with ISO 27001, NIST standards, and other compliance frameworks.
  • Help implement security controls within IT infrastructure including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), cloud environments like AWS or Azure, and virtualization platforms such as VMware.
  • Contribute to incident response efforts by investigating security events, assisting with threat detection & response procedures, and supporting incident recovery initiatives.
  • Collaborate on system hardening projects for operating systems like Debian, CentOS, Windows, macOS, and openSUSE to reduce attack surfaces.
  • Support ongoing security system administration tasks including user access management via LDAP or Active Directory and maintaining system security plans.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and network architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity fundamentals such as encryption methods, authentication protocols (SAML SSO), and security frameworks like ISO 27000 series or FISMA compliance.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools including SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk), IDS/IPS systems, EDR solutions, and threat intelligence sources.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to perform vulnerability research, risk assessments, and security analysis investigations.
  • Exposure to cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform is a plus; experience with cloud security engineering is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to learning new technologies within an Agile environment.
  • A degree in computer science or information technology; relevant certifications like CompTIA Security+ or Cisco ISE are advantageous but not mandatory.
