Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive IT Manager to lead their IT function and ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and business-focused technology services. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on IT professional who can combine operational leadership with strategic thinking, driving service improvements while supporting the wider business.

As the IT Manager, you will take ownership of the organisation’s IT operations, ensuring infrastructure, systems, and support services are delivered efficiently and securely. You will lead technology projects, manage supplier relationships, oversee cybersecurity and compliance, and work closely with key stakeholders to ensure IT continues to meet the evolving needs of the business.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the IT function, ensuring the availability, security, and performance of infrastructure, networks, business systems, and end-user support.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and operational standards that align with business objectives and support continuous improvement.
  • Manage IT projects, system upgrades, and technology change initiatives, ensuring successful delivery with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party suppliers, managing service delivery, contracts, budgets, and performance.
  • Oversee cybersecurity, data protection, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity to ensure organisational resilience.
  • Monitor IT service performance, driving improvements through effective incident management, reporting, and service optimisation.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand operational requirements, identify opportunities for technology improvements, and support future growth.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, policies, and procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practice.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an IT Manager or senior IT leadership position.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365, networking, business systems, and IT service delivery.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers, contracts, and IT budgets.
  • A solid understanding of cybersecurity, compliance, data protection, and business continuity.
  • A track record of delivering IT projects and driving operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic planning with a hands-on approach to IT management.
