Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Manager to join a well-established and growing UK-based organisation. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery, ensuring technology services remain secure, reliable, and aligned to business objectives.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of day-to-day IT operations, lead service improvements, manage suppliers, and support the successful delivery of technology projects across the business., As IT Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of IT infrastructure, business systems, cybersecurity, service delivery, and technology change initiatives. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will ensure IT services support business growth while maintaining high levels of security, performance, and user satisfaction., * Lead day-to-day IT operations, ensuring reliable support for infrastructure, networks, business applications, devices, and end users.

  • Implement IT strategies, standards, and policies in line with wider business objectives.
  • Manage internal IT resources and external service providers, ensuring strong performance and accountability.
  • Oversee infrastructure operations, including servers, storage, networking, workstation management, and office technology.
  • Support and administer key business applications, including Microsoft 365, ERP systems, and other critical platforms.
  • Maintain robust cybersecurity, data protection, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Drive IT service excellence through effective incident management, monitoring, prioritisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage IT budgets, software licensing, and supplier expenditure.
  • Coordinate IT projects, upgrades, system rollouts, and technology change programmes.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand operational requirements and align technology solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems, procedures, policies, risks, and operational activities.
  • Produce regular reports on service performance, project status, risks, compliance, and resource utilisation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in an IT Manager or senior IT Operations/Infrastructure position.
  • Strong technical knowledge across IT infrastructure, networks, end-user computing, Microsoft 365, and service delivery.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers, vendor relationships, and service contracts.
  • A solid understanding of cybersecurity, IT governance, compliance, business continuity, and backup solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience leading IT projects, operational change, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
  • ERP systems and business-critical operational platforms.
  • Multi-site business environments.
