Job description

  • Design, build, test, and deliver scalable software solutions that power Hive’s smart home ecosystem and create real value for our customers.
  • Develop new cloud-native services and platform capabilities, contributing to technical designs and engineering decisions across the product lifecycle.
  • Take ownership of the services you build, supporting a ā€œYou build it, you run itā€ culture focused on reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders, sharing knowledge, reviewing code, and delivering high-quality solutions together.
  • Contribute to Agile delivery practices using GitHub and Scrumban, managing tasks effectively while maintaining clean, well-documented code.
  • Continuously enhance your skills and help modernise Hive’s technology landscape, always keeping customer needs at the heart of every solution you create.

Requirements

  • A curious and agile-minded engineer who loves learning, embraces new technologies, and enjoys solving complex problems in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong experience developing software with GoLang and Python, with knowledge of Java or Kotlin considered a bonus.
  • A solid understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD), automated testing, and modern CI/CD practices to deliver high-quality software with confidence.
  • Experience building and operating cloud-native applications within AWS, particularly using Lambda, DynamoDB, and CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with serverless development frameworks such as Serverless Framework, AWS SAM, or AWS CDK, alongside development tools including GitHub, Maven, and Gradle.
  • A passion for innovation, with an interest in Generative AI-powered development tools and how they can improve engineering productivity, quality, and day-to-day workflows.
