Job description

Are you an experienced Data Engineering Lead with a passion for MarTech, Customer Data Platforms and scalable data solutions? Do you enjoy connecting business needs with technical innovation? As a MarTech Data Engineering Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the data engineering and integration strategy behind ING’s MarTech platform. Working alongside business users, data analysts, data scientists and architects, you will translate business challenges into robust technical solutions that enable data-driven marketing across the organisation. Your role In this position, you will:

  • Define and drive the data engineering and integration strategy for the MarTech platform.
  • Translate business use cases into technical solutions together with architects and engineering teams.
  • Lead and support engineering teams throughout the implementation process.
  • Design scalable data integration architectures.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, data scientists and architects.
  • Integrate Customer Data Platforms with CRM, Marketing Automation, Analytics, Consent Management and Customer Engagement platforms.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and review technical designs to ensure high-quality solutions

Requirements

What you’ll bring We’re looking for someone with a strong engineering background who combines technical expertise with leadership skills. You have:

  • At least 5 years of experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs).
  • Proven experience with customer identity, profile unification and audience strategies.
  • A strong understanding of customer data activation and omnichannel marketing ecosystems.
  • A solid background in Data Engineering.
  • Experience designing scalable data integration architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, customer identity resolution, data governance, data quality frameworks, event-driven architectures and API-based integrations.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience leading engineering teams.
  • The ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience working with both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with vendors and reviewing technical designs.

Who you are You communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. You take ownership of your work, think analytically and are comfortable operating in an international Agile organisation.
