Job description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low-Voltage Systems Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of low-voltage systems including fiber optic networks, CCTV surveillance, access control systems, fire alarms, and other security solutions. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical security and communication infrastructure across diverse environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects, collaborate with skilled professionals, and contribute to the safety and security of our clients’ facilities., * Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems such as fiber optic cabling, CCTV cameras, access control panels, fire alarm systems, sensors, and IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems).
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute system design specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of security systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation and repair tasks.
- Perform cabling tasks including running cables through walls, ceilings, and conduits while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Test network connectivity and remote access software to verify system functionality across various platforms.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to integrate low-voltage infrastructure seamlessly.
- Document all work performed through detailed reports and update system records accurately.
- Provide field service support by troubleshooting issues on-site quickly and efficiently.
- Assist in sales activities related to alarm system upgrades or new security system proposals when needed.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and telecommunication systems.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and schematics for system installation.
- Proven experience as a service technician in low-voltage or security systems environments.
- Familiarity with surveillance equipment including CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms, and remote access software.
- Electrical experience related to cabling, conduit bending, wiring standards (NEC), and power distribution.
- Ability to read technical schematics and system design documents accurately.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems, locksmithing basics, security protocols, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
- Construction experience is a plus for integrating systems within building frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently in complex systems.
