Job description
- Produce prototypes, fixtures, tooling, and production-support components using industrial 3D printing technologies.
- Advise internal customers on DfAM principles to align application needs with the right materials, processes, and build strategies.
- Own machine readiness end-to-end-setup, changeover, operation, teardown-and drive continuous process improvements.
- Read and apply 3D CAD models, product/tooling schematics, and GD&T; interpret machine prints accurately.
- Administer the prototype schedule with minimal oversight; provide timely updates by email, phone, virtual meetings, and in-person touchpoints.
- Validate parts using CMM inspection and 3D laser scanning; document results in paper and electronic systems.
- Use machining fundamentals to perform or arrange secondary operations with outside vendors when required.
- Communicate technical insights and capability needs to peers, leadership, customers, and suppliers.
- Uphold plant-wide safety, ergonomic, and environmental standards; keep the lab clean, calibrated, and well-maintained.
- Support other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & background screening
- Regularly stand and move throughout the department for the shift; able to lift, push, and pull 10-50 lbs.
- Wear employer-provided PPE as required by the department.
- Mechanical aptitude with prior industrial experience preferred.
- Background in additive manufacturing and comfort working in a production environment.
