Job description

  • Coordinate drivers and buses on routes, keeping daily operations running smoothly.
  • Accurately assign students to routes.
  • Communicate with drivers daily, providing route information and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records for payroll and enter data into our system.
  • Check in drivers and manage two-way radio communication during route times, relaying messages and handling concerns as they arise.
  • Assist with charter paperwork, including calculating driver pay and trip pricing.
  • Answer incoming calls, resolving what you can and directing the rest to the right department.
  • Fill in on school routes or charter trips as a backup driver when needed.

Requirements

Lamers Bus Lines is looking for an organized, people-focused individual to join our school bus department in a full-time, year-round role. You’ll own the day-to-day routes for your school district - coordinating routes, communicating with drivers, and supporting daily operations - with the opportunity to get behind the wheel as a backup school bus driver when needed. No CDL? No problem - Lamers provides in-house CDL training. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are a must., * Excellent communication and organizational skills; must be detail-oriented.

  • Computer experience in a business or education environment.
  • Willingness to obtain a CDL - Lamers covers training in-house - and assist with school bus driving as needed.
  • Knowledge of student transportation or commercial transportation operations is a plus.
