Job description
The main function of a Network Analyst is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades. Job Responsibilities
- Planning, design, and installation of routers, switches, or other network components
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the following: spanning tree, routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VLAN technologies, WAN protocols
- Conduct network troubleshooting using network protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark
- Possess good working knowledge and experience in planning, design, installation, and support of LAN (Ethernet, Gig-Ethernet)
- Possess good working knowledge and experience in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) protocols such as: CONITEL, DNP, Modbus and 68150
- Possess good working knowledge of cybersecurity
- Possess good NERC-CIP knowledge and SME (Subject Matter Expert) during audits
- Conduct knowledge transfer activities with peers or other support groups
- Responsible for vendor comparisons as needed
- Maintain network drawings
- Provide testing for new network hardware and software solutions
- Accountable for adhering to Change Management process for network related incidents
- Participates in process improvement initiatives
- Serve as member of technical team on selected large-scale substation networking projects
- Provides support, testing, troubleshooting for all business applications
- Utilize intelligent network management tools to isolate problems or improve network performance
Requirements
- Network Engineer Route/Switch
- NERC CIP
- Understanding of OT network s, * Bachelor s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
- 5 7 years experience required
- Network/systems administration/related work experience required
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus
- Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage
- Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
