Job description

This is a front-line support role. You’ll handle day-to-day IT for office and shop-floor staff, manage endpoints, and support the hardware and Microsoft 365 environment that keeps a busy shop - running laser, forming, welding, and assembly - moving. You’ll work closely with the IT Director and our systems team, backed by a custom web toolset built on top of our JobBoss ERP., * Provide desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral support for office and shop-floor staff, and handle first-line support tickets end to end.

  • Provide on-site support across our multiple Isanti locations, all within walking distance of one another.
  • Manage endpoints across the company with our RMM platform (Action1): imaging, patching, software deployment, and inventory.
  • Set up and configure new workstations using our automated provisioning scripts, and maintain the standard software load.
  • Administer user accounts, Microsoft 365 access, and SSO - onboarding, offboarding, licensing, and mailbox and permission changes.
  • Support shop-floor hardware, including barcode/QR scanners, label printers, and workstation kiosks.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity across the office and shop-floor network - switches, Wi-Fi, and access to internal web apps.
  • Escalate complex ERP or application issues appropriately and follow them through to resolution.
  • Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and endpoint inventory.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years in an IT support or help desk role (or strong relevant education plus hands-on aptitude).
  • Solid Windows desktop familiarity and hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable administering Microsoft 365 - mail flow, user management, and licensing.
  • Networking fundamentals: DHCP, DNS, static IP assignment, and basic switch/router troubleshooting.
  • Strong organization and follow-through; comfortable on the shop floor and at a computer.
  • Clear communication and patience with non-technical users; willing to crawl under desks and into racks.

Preferred

  • Experience with RMM or endpoint-management platforms (Action1 a plus).
  • Familiarity with a manufacturing ERP/MES (JobBoss a plus, not required).
  • Windows Server familiarity is a plus - this role does not manage servers, but exposure helps.
  • Basic scripting (PowerShell) or SQL.
  • Linux familiarity - we run an Ubuntu-based internal server.
